Tally Ho: The Game

A new coast. Your boat.

Leeward sheet trims automatically; windward sheet stays slack.

Boat weight

Hull, equipment, stores and people; spread across the hull. Excludes rig and ballast.

Distributed between keel, bilge and upper spheres. Release either slider to restart the boat with the new weight in all scenes.

Ocean appearance

Scales the ocean waves and the water sampled by buoyancy. Swell is independent of sailing wind.

Effects fade out at this water depth. Higher depth moves them farther offshore; opacity controls shoreline foam and breaker lips.

Kelvin wake, driven by this boat’s displacement and speed. 1× is the calculated size.

Up to 6 kn: foam increases from 0.2 to 0.5; aeration increases from 0.02 to 0.07. Sliders adjust these automatic values; 0 removes that effect.

Wake forms as the boat moves.

Sail the world in Tally Ho

This demo uses real sailing and buoyancy physics. The environment uses real world elevation, topographic and building data is used but reimagined as a new world to explore.

Sail to Circular Quay (west) and drop your anchor.

Quick start

  1. Raise anchor A
  2. Motor forward and to port (left) ↑ + ←
  3. Raise the jibs 2 3
  4. Raise the main 1
  5. Raise remaining sails if wind allows 4 5

At the helm
